Going Through Grief
Whether you’re aware that death is imminent, or the news comes shockingly out-of-the blue, facing the loss of someone you love ranks among life’s most shattering experiences. You may feel overwhelmed. Numb. Or, even guilty for not feeling worse. Any of those reactions is okay. In spite of what anyone may tell you, there are no rules for grieving. There is no way to predict the impact the loss will have on your life, or how long it will take for things to feel normal again. The good news is, chances are good you will feel normal again. Different, perhaps, but normal. And, with an understanding therapist to help you, you may even bounce back stronger than you were before.
